Descripción:
2,5-Dimethyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)pyrrole (2,5-DMPP) is a colorless gaseous compound that has been synthesized by the reaction of amines with formaldehyde. This compound undergoes reversible thermal decomposition to release ammonia and pyrrole. 2,5-DMPP can be used as a sensor for chloride ions. It reacts with an acid catalyst such as chloride ion to produce hydrogen gas and pyrrole. The sensor can be reused by adding another reactant to regenerate it.
