Información del producto
- 2-Methylbenzene-1,4-Dicarboxylic Acid
- N-(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenyl)-2-{[4-phenyl-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidin-2-yl]sulfanyl}propanamide
2-Methylterephthalic acid is an organic compound with the formula CH(CO)(OH)COOH. It is a dicarboxylic acid that is used in the production of polyesters and other esters. 2-Methylterephthalic acid has a redox potential of -1.5 V, which is associated with its amide group. This property helps to stabilize the molecule against oxidation by copper complexes, which can be catalyzed by water vapor or hydrochloric acid. It also has a high thermal expansion coefficient, making it useful for polyester production. 2-Methylterephthalic acid is structurally related to 2-aminoterephthalic acid. The latter compound does not have the amide group and is also used in polyester production. 2-Methylterephthalic acid can be prepared by condensing terephthaloyl chloride with methanol in the presence of sodium hydroxide
