This molecule is metastable due to its radical coupling. 1,3-Diphenylpropan-2-ol is found in a number of chemical reactions including bond cleavage, aldehyde formation, alkene formation, and asymmetric synthesis. Cleavage products include 3-phenylpropanoic acid, phenylacetic acid, and phenylglycolic acid.
