1-Dimethylaminomethyl-2-naphthol (DMN) is a hydroxylated naphthalene derivative that has been shown to be an anticancer drug. DMN inhibits the activity of proteins in cancer cells, such as splicing and intramolecular hydrogen transfer. It also inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids, which are required for tumor cell growth.
