Información del producto
- 2H-1-benzopyran-2-one, 3-acetyl-8-methoxy-
3-Acetyl-8-methoxycoumarin is an antibacterial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to DNA and RNA. 3-Acetyl-8-methoxycoumarin has been shown to have cytotoxic activity in vitro against human lung cancer cells. It also has been shown to inhibit the production of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and serum enzymes, such as dismutase activity, in mice with lung cancer. This drug also has a toxic effect on respiratory system cells, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis. The functional theory for this compound is that it binds to the cisplatin binding site on DNA gyrase. The cisplatin binding site is an important area in the bacterial cell that is responsible for maintaining the integrity of DNA.
