4,4-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-1,3-dione is an antiplatelet agent that inhibits the activity of the platelet cyclooxygenase enzyme and prevents the production of thromboxane A2. It has been shown to be a potent compound that has antiplatelet effects in vitro and in vivo. 4,4-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-1,3-dione is used for the treatment of patients with atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease who have had a recent stroke or heart attack.
