Descripción

Phenylthiohydantoin-aspartic acid is a synthetic amino acid. It has been shown to react with soybean trypsin and human serum, but not with sephadex g-100. Phenylthiohydantoin-aspartic acid is reactive with cuprammonium and the virus α1-acid glycoprotein. The sequences of phenylthiohydantoin-aspartic acid are identical to those of the amino acids serine, threonine, cysteine, and methionine. The strain of virus that reacts with phenylthiohydantoin-aspartic acid is unknown. Phenylthiohydantoin-aspartic acid also has an acidic side chain that can be analyzed for reactive sites.
