1-Bromo-2,6-dimethyl benzene is a functional compound that has been used in the synthesis of palladium complexes with different types of ligands. It also has optical properties, such as its high boiling point and low solubility in water. The bromine atom in 1-bromo-2,6-dimethylbenzene can be replaced by other halogens or hydrogen.
