5-Bromo-N-[1-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]pyrrolidin-2-ylmethyl]-2,3-dimethoxybenzamide (5BDBM) is a drug which acts as a dopamine receptor antagonist. It has phase chromatography properties and is used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. 5BDBM binds to the dopamine receptors in the brain, preventing the binding of dopamine, which leads to its therapeutic effects. The affinity of 5BDBM for its target receptors is higher than that of remoxipride, and it also exhibits low affinity for other receptor types. This drug is synthetically made and has an amide group that can react with intramolecular hydrogen. 5BDBM also inhibits uptake and increases chloride ion concentration in rat striatal tissue.
