7-[3-[4-[Bis(4-Fluorophenyl)-Hydroxymethyl]Piperidin-1-Yl]Propoxy]-6-Methoxychromen-2-One is a prodrug that is converted to the active form 6-Methoxychromen-2,7-(3H)one (EMC) in vivo. The drug binds to DNA and RNA by forming a covalent bond with the N7 position of guanine. It has been shown to have activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium avium complex.
