2-[[2-[(E)-2-[8-(Bis(Carboxymethyl)Amino)-6-Fluoroquinolin-2-Yl]Ethenyl]Phenyl]-(Carboxymethyl)Amino]Acetic Acid (CPMFQ) is a fluorescent probe that binds to endogenous brain proteins in living animals. It was synthesized from the 8-(bis(carboxymethyl)amino)-6-fluoroquinoline (FQ) scaffold using a new method for the preparation of amide bonds with bis(carboxymethyl)amine. This compound has been shown to be useful as a probe for studies of the kinetics and spectra of fluoride uptake, elimination, and resonance in rats.
