8-bromo-2-chloro-6-fluoroquinazoline is an inhibitor of tyrosine kinases. It has been shown to inhibit the growth factor receptor, and thus also inhibits the production of growth factors that stimulate cell proliferation. 8-Bromo-2-chloro-6-fluoroquinazoline blocks the activation of tyrosine kinases by binding to their active site and preventing the formation of a phosphotyrosine bond with ATP. This drug is used for the treatment of fibroblasts and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) in order to increase collagen synthesis, which helps repair tissue damage.
