Información del producto
2-Bromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid is a selective inhibitor of retinoic acid receptor (RAR) that has been shown to regulate the expression of genes in cells. It is used as a retinoic acid analogue and an agonist for RAR. 2-Bromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid binds to the ligand binding pocket of RAR, displacing retinoic acid and other ligands. This binding stabilizes the ligand binding pocket and prevents it from undergoing conformational changes, which are necessary for its activation. 2-Bromo-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid also acts as an agonist for RAR, increasing the transcription rates of certain genes by interacting with the DNA response element on DNA near the gene's promoter region.
