• Descripción: 3-Benzyloxy-1-propanol is a desymmetrization agent that catalyzes the conversion of esters to ketones and amides to alcohols. It is also an asymmetric synthesis reagent that converts (S)-2,3-diaminopropionic acid into (R)-2,3-diaminopropionic acid. 3-Benzyloxy-1-propanol has been shown to be a useful tool in the synthesis of amines with functional groups such as carbonyl or hydroxyl. Furthermore, 3-benzyloxy-1-propanol can be used to form bonds between two different molecules by cleaving one bond and forming two new ones. It is also capable of mediating bond cleavage, which can lead to the formation of free radicals.
