Benzylsulfonylacetic acid is a cationic organic compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and nitric oxide synthase in tissues, as well as radiation-induced cell death. It also inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis through its interaction with hydrochloric acid and alkoxy groups. Benzylsulfonylacetic acid can be used as an inhibitor in a wide range of cancers, including breast, cervical, lung, prostate, colon, and pancreatic cancer. This drug is also an inhibitor for bacterial cell growth.
