1-Bromo-2-chloro-4-fluorobenzene is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C6H5BrClF. The 1-bromo-2-chloro-4-fluorobenzene is a monomer that reacts with sulfuric acid to form 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydrobenzo[a]pyrene. This compound has been shown to be an effective herbicide when applied to plants in the presence of nitrite and hydrobromic acid. It has also been used as a precursor for other brominated compounds such as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,-octahydrobenzo[a]pyrene diazotized with sodium nitrite.
