1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolidin-2-ylidene is a kinetic data. It is a solid catalyst and can be used as a diagnostic agent for the detection of natural compounds in organic solvents. It has been shown to have hemolytic activity, which may be due to steric interactions with the cell membrane or nonpolar solvent. 1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolidin-2-ylidene also interacts with ethyl diazoacetate and fatty acid. The potential interaction of this molecule with an organometallic and transfer reactions are still under investigation.
