2-Bromo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene is a chemical compound that is used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. It has antibacterial activity and can be used to synthesize ligands with specific functional groups. 2-Bromo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene is reactive towards amines and can be used to synthesize aminocarbonyl compounds. This chemical reacts reversibly with halides and can be used for the preparation of mesylates and ethyl formates. 2-Bromo-1,3-dimethoxybenzene also reacts with acetonitrile to produce peroxide.
