Descripción:
5-Bromo-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile is a lead compound that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human cancer cell lines. It binds to DNA and inhibits cell division by inhibiting DNA synthesis, but does not bind to RNA. 5-Bromo-1H-indole-3-carbonitrile is a cytotoxic agent that has been shown to have anticancer properties in the low micromolar range. This alkaloid also has some inhibitory effects on other cancer cells, such as breast and prostate cancer.
