3-Bromo-4-chlorobenzaldehyde (3BC) is an aromatic compound that can be used to make other chemicals. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet, almond-like odor. 3BC can be used as an intermediate for the production of phenol, orthoformate, and alkoxybenzene. The catalyst copper(II) acetate can be used to produce alkali metal salt derivatives from 3BC. This chemical can also act as a catalyst for the reaction of amine and alcohols in acetal formation, or it can be used as a diluent in organic synthesis reactions.
