Información del producto
2-Bromo-6-ethylpyridine is an indene that forms a ruthenium complex by refluxing with toluene. It is also used as a reducing agent in organic synthesis. 2-Bromo-6-ethylpyridine is synthesized by reacting pyridyl bromide with ethyl bromide in the presence of x-ray irradiation. The molecule has a molecular structure of C8H10Br2N and a melting point of 191°C. This compound is predominantly carbonyl, which can be confirmed by the infrared spectrum, and has a quinolinyl group at position 2. The regioselectivity of this compound is determined by the regioisomeric ratio of the two substituents on the pyridine ring, which will determine whether or not it reacts as an electrophile or nucleophile.
