2-Bromo-N,N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine is a processable, organocatalytic, and cyclic molecule that can be used for the synthesis of chiral molecules. It has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the electrochemical reduction of nitroarenes in water with a high turnover frequency. The use of 2-Bromo-N,N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine as an organocatalyst can also be applied to biomolecular and electrochemical methods. This compound has been shown to have nucleophilic properties and is used in kinetic studies.
2-Bromo-N,N-dimethylpyridin-4-amine has been used as an iridium complex in solvents such as acetonitrile and chloroform.
