• Descripción: 3-Bromoperylene is an aliphatic hydrocarbon that is a molecule with the chemical formula of C8H8. It is a lipid hydroperoxide that has been shown to be photochemically responsive to ultraviolet light. 3-Bromoperylene has been used for cross-coupling reactions with aromatic hydrocarbons, such as phenyl boronic acid, and it produces the corresponding 3-bromophenyl ester in high yield. The compound has two isomers with different activation energies, which are determined by fluorophores and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). The less reactive isomer will emit light at longer wavelengths, while the more reactive one will emit light at shorter wavelengths.
