1-Bromo-3-iodo-2-methylbenzene is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases. It has been shown to be effective in preclinical studies against arthritis and cellular proliferation. This drug has been shown to be a reversible inhibitor of enzymes by competitive inhibition. Inhibiting the activity of these enzymes leads to decreased protein synthesis, which may result in cell death. 1-Bromo-3-iodo-2-methylbenzene also blocks the binding of ATP to the enzyme’s active site, preventing phosphorylation of proteins on tyrosine residues and inhibiting their function.
