4-Butylmorpholine is a morpholine drug that binds to the amine group of proteins. It has a number of biological effects, including altering liver function and binding to DNA. 4-Butylmorpholine has been shown to be toxic at high doses, with hepatocyte death observed in rat hepatocytes at temperatures above 40°C. The photophysical properties of 4-butylmorpholine have been studied in detail, including its ability to bind to DNA. This drug also reacts with amines and hydrogen bonds with functional groups on proteins and nucleic acids.
