2-Bromopyridine-3-boronic acid (2BPBA) is a boronate compound that can be used as a building block for the synthesis of new chemical entities. It has been shown to have non-inflammatory and non-cytotoxic effects in mouse models. 2BPBA also has an anti-inflammatory effect in human cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to lectins. 2BPBA binds to the sugar moiety of lectin and prevents it from binding with other proteins or glycoproteins on the cell surface, preventing inflammatory responses. This compound was found to produce strong anti-inflammatory effects in mouse models without cytotoxicity or inflammation.
