4-Butyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl (4BCBP) is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of benzonitrile. 4BCBP is used as a monolayer in the development of new drugs and in the synthesis of other compounds. This substance has been shown to have conformational properties. The monolayers formed by 4BCBP are highly viscous. The anions present on the surface of the monolayer interact with the cations present on the surface of another molecule when they are transferred, which can cause synchronous transfers that are not possible with conventional solvents.
