• Descripción: 3-Bromo-5-methoxypyridine (BMMP) is an organic solvent that is used as a cross-coupling agent in the industrial production of pharmaceuticals. BMMP has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of glutamate receptor subtype AMPA. It has also been shown to inhibit other glutamate receptors, such as NMDA and kainate. 3-Bromo-5-methoxypyridine can be found in the form of individual isomers or as a racemic mixture. The industrial synthesis of BMMP is accomplished by hydrogenating an alkene using Naoac, which was obtained from an industrial process that uses coal tar as its source material.
