3-Bromo-4-formylthiophene is a monolayer that can be synthesized by electrochemical polymerization. It has been shown to have a high degree of crystallinity and low volatility. 3-Bromo-4-formylthiophene is stable in the solid phase and can be used as an acceptor in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). The photophysical properties of this molecule are dependent on temperature, with the lowest energy emission occurring at lower temperatures.
