N-1-Benzyl-2-methylpiperazine is a potent antibacterial agent that has been shown to be active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It has also been effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is an opportunistic pathogen that causes infections in cystic fibrosis patients. N-1-Benzyl-2-methylpiperazine inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the active site of ribosomes and preventing protein synthesis. This drug also inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, which prevents the formation of new cell walls.
