• Descripción: 1-Benzylindole is a compound that has been shown to have inhibitory properties against the mitochondrial membrane potential, which may be due to its ability to induce cardiac hypertrophy. It also has the ability to block the formation of pro-apoptotic proteins in cells. 1-Benzylindole has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells and inflammatory diseases in animal models. The mechanism by which 1-benzylindole inhibits cell proliferation is not yet known, but it may be due to its ability to interfere with growth factor signaling pathways or by binding to palladium-catalyzed coupling sites on DNA. The chemical structure of 1-benzylindole was determined using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectroscopy (MS).
