• Descripción: 8-Bromo-6-methylquinoline is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be a potent TNFα inhibitor. The pharmacological activity of 8-Bromo-6-methylquinoline was tested in vitro and found to inhibit the production of TNFα from LPS-stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages, which may be due to its ability to bind the terminal alkynes on the TNFα receptor. Optimization studies were conducted on 8-Bromo-6-methylquinoline, which led to an increased yield of the desired product. This ligand also has a high affinity for chloride ions and can form coordination geometry with them. The binding affinity of 8-Bromo-6-methylquinoline for TNFα has been evaluated using molecular dynamics simulations and was found to have an interaction profile similar to that of other TNFα inhibitors.
