• Descripción: 5-Bromopicolinamide is a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) proteolytic peptide. It has been shown to be effective at cleaving myoglobin, which is an important part of the muscle protein that stores oxygen for use during exercise. 5-Bromopicolinamide is also able to detect the presence of phosphorylation sites on proteins. This compound is used as a substrate in MALDI mass spectrometry and has been successfully applied to the identification of phosphorylation sites on myoglobin and other proteins.
