trans-1-Benzyl-4-phenylpyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid is a nitrile that is used in the research of aziridinium. It has been shown to be regioselective in the oxidation of 1,4 dioxane to give an oxide. Isolation of this compound can be achieved by crystallizing it from chlorinated solvents. The synthesis of trans-1-Benzyl-4-phenylpyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid is reproducible and biologically active when tested in vitro against Chlamydia trachomatis. This compound also exhibits stereospecificity and an anion character.
