2-(4-(2-Bromopropanoyl)phenoxy)acetic acid is a bifunctional reagent that can be used for peptide synthesis. It reacts with carboxyl groups and amines to form amides and ureas, respectively. This product is insoluble in water and is soluble in acetone, chloroform, acetonitrile, benzene, and ether.
2-(4-(2-Bromopropanoyl)phenoxy)acetic acid has been shown to inhibit the activity of bacterial dna gyrase (topoisomerase II) and dna topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA.
