Descripción:Benzyl 2-aminobenzoate belongs to the class of alkanoic acid. It is used in skin care products as a solvent and an emulsifier. Benzyl 2-aminobenzoate has been shown to be effective against inflammatory skin diseases and has been used in radiation treatment to kill bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. This compound is also known for its ability to lower the pH of an oil solution, which may be due to its ability to release nitro groups. The compound can be synthesized from benzaldehyde and aminobenzene by reaction with nitric acid, yielding monoamines such as nitrobenzyl amine. Benzyl 2-aminobenzoate has been shown to cause intracellular calcium ion influx and inhibit cell growth, thereby proving useful for treating alopecia and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET).
