Descripción

N-Butylacetanilide is a chlorinated derivative of acetanilide. It is a novel drug that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, with potent microcapsule release and good tissue penetration. This compound is also active against tropical diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis and dengue fever and exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. N-Butylacetanilide has been shown to inhibit the growth of plant cells and animal tissues by alkylation at carbon atom 2 of the fatty acid chain.
