2-Bromonorbornane is a nucleophilic reagent with the potential to be used in radical substitution, coupling and elimination reactions. It can also be used to synthesize 1,3-dienes. 2-Bromonorbornane has been shown to react with alkylboronic acids to form substituted alkenes. It can also react with chlorides and radical coupling agents to form substituted arenes. 2-Bromonorbornane has been shown to undergo stereoselective reactions with halides and alkylmagnesium compounds. This product is stable at room temperature, but should be stored in a refrigerator or freezer due to its high activity.
