- 4-Bromobutyraldehyded Dimethyl Acetal
4-Bromobutyraldehyde dimethylacetal is a synthesized chemical that has the chemical formula CHBrOCH(COCH). It is a versatile reagent that can be used in the synthesis of aldols, cyclization, and acetals. 4-Bromobutyraldehyde dimethylacetal can also be used to form an intramolecular acetal. This compound also has been shown to catalyze the cyclization reaction of uridine. 4-Bromobutyraldehyde dimethylacetal is an analog of 2,4-dibromobutyraldehyde and reacts with nucleophiles in a similar manner. It also reacts with nucleophiles in a similar manner to 2,4-dibromobutyraldehyde.
