Biotin-PEG4-azide is a cationic peptide that has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against insects, nematodes, and phytopathogenic fungi. It is also a biopesticide that inhibits the nitrification process in plants by binding to the nitrogenase enzyme. Biotin-PEG4-azide has been shown to be active against acarids and plant pests that cause damage to crops such as agrochemicals and insecticides. This compound is also known to be toxic to phytopathogenic fungi, which are responsible for causing disease in plants.
