Información del producto
- 2-Naphthalenol, 3-Bromo-
3-Bromo-2-naphthol is a synthetic compound with the chemical formula of C8H8BrO. It is a colorless liquid that has an epoxide and lactam functionality. This compound can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of chromene derivatives and phosphite esters. 3-Bromo-2-naphthol reacts with carbon source to form heterobifunctional products. The reaction mechanism for this process is photophysical, which involves an electron transfer from the methyl group in 3-bromo-2-naphthol to the triple bond in the carbon source molecule to form a carbocation intermediate. The formation of this intermediate leads to either cleavage or cyclization reactions, depending on whether it is exposed to light or not respectively. 3-Bromo-2-naphthol also reacts with metal ions, such as Cu(I) and Fe(II), to yield formyl compounds.
