3-(Benzyloxy)-1H-pyrazole is a heterocyclic compound that has been shown to have histological, phenotypic, and functional properties that are characteristic of an airway agent. It has been shown to transform the cells of the epithelium in the trachea and bronchi. 3-(Benzyloxy)-1H-pyrazole has also been shown to induce malignant transformation in animal models. The carcinogenic effects of 3-(benzyloxy)-1H-pyrazole may be due to its ability to cause DNA damage and inhibit DNA repair enzymes. 3-(Benzyloxy)-1H-pyrazole has also been found to function as an inhibitor of bacterial growth by binding with ribosomes.
