Benzofuran-2-Carbonyl Chloride is an organic solvent that is used as a synthon and has immunomodulatory effects. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the chloride ion in the active site of the enzyme, thereby disrupting its function. Benzofuran-2-Carbonyl Chloride has been shown to be effective against Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but not against Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus aureus. This compound is also able to inhibit the reaction rate of fluconazole with thiosemicarbazide. In addition, this chemical can cause cancer cells to die by inhibiting protein synthesis in fibroblast cells.
