5-[2-[[3-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-methylpropyl]amino]-1-hydroxyethyl]salicylamide is a drug used for the treatment of cardiac conditions. It has been shown to have biological properties including vasorelaxant activity and antiarrhythmic effects. 5-[2-[[3-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-methylpropyl]amino]-1-hydroxyethyl]salicylamide also has a cardioprotective effect against ischemia/reperfusion injury by reducing oxidative stress in the myocardium. This drug is also used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Chronic oral administration of this drug may cause carcinogenic potential and can lead to chronic liver damage. The hydroxyl group on this drug makes it an acidic molecule
