2-Bromo-1-chloropropane (2BCP) is a solvent that is used in the production of organic chemicals. 2BCP is a halogenated hydrocarbon and is also known as bromochloromethane. It has been observed to have spontaneous chemical reactions with cyclohexanol, which may be due to its high reactivity. 2BCP desorbs from the surface at a temperature of -80°C, which can be done with liquid phase techniques or by using photoelectron activation energy techniques. Chromatographic techniques can be used to separate 2BCP from other substances through the use of nonpolar solvents, while mass spectrometric techniques can be used to identify the molecule by measuring its m/z value. Covid-19 pandemic (H1N1) virus was found to bind to chloride ions on the surface of cells, which suggests that it could inhibit protein synthesis by preventing ribosomes
