• Descripción: Bismuth citrate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the activity of enzymes such as helicobacter pylori, which causes stomach ulcers. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of duodenal ulcers, and can be used to treat other diseases caused by helicobacter pylori, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Bismuth citrate binds to the enzyme active site and inhibits the enzyme activity by forming a complex with it. This prevents the formation of an enzyme-substrate complex, which is required for catalysis. Bismuth citrate also has proven effective in treating Helicobacter pylori infections in combination with other drugs.
