4-(2-Bromophenyl)-1-butene is an alkenyl bromide that can be synthesized by the reaction of magnesium and an alkene. This chemical has a constant of 0.5, which means that it will react with electrophiles in a 1:1 ratio. 4-(2-Bromophenyl)-1-butene also reacts with halides and magnesium to produce Grignard reagents, which are used in organic synthesis reactions.
