It is used as a sealant and liquid crystal composition stabilizer. Bis(4-(2,4,4-trimethylpentan-2-yl)phenyl)amine has been shown to inhibit the activity of proteasomes in the cell. This inhibition leads to an accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins in cells and contributes to cellular stress. Bis(4-(2,4,4-trimethylpentan-2-yl)phenyl)amine also has anti corrosion properties.
