• Descripción: Benzylhydrochlorothiazide is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to benazeprilat, its active form. Benazeprilat is a potent inhibitor of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy and other tissue conditions. It has also been shown to have an anti-diabetic effect, which may be due to its ability to increase glucose uptake and reduce insulin resistance. Benzylhydrochlorothiazide has been extensively studied in vitro and in vivo for its effects on skin conditions such as psoriasis and ichthyosis.
