- L-Serine, N-(phenylmethyl)-, methyl ester
- Methyl N-benzyl-L-serinate
N-Benzyl-L-serine, methyl ester is a peptidomimetic that inhibits the proteasome pathway by binding to the catalytic site of the 20S proteasome. This agent also inhibits the desulfurization of cysteine residues in proteins and has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation. N-Benzyl-L-serine, methyl ester is synthesized from butyrolactone and Boc-L-serine with organocatalysts such as DMAP or EDC.
